Crouton Tip!
After being away from the condo for Easter weekend, I came back to some stale-arse bread in the form of bagels and leftover sandwich bread. Instead of throwing it away, I decided to make home-made croutons out of it. It was easy, made a delicious crunchy addition to my salad, and made me feel quite thrifty. I thought it was a handy tip, so I decided to pass it along.
Ingredients:
- Stale bread
- Olive Oil
- Any seasonings you want
Steps:
1. Preheat the oven to 275
2. Cut the bread into cubes, toss lightly in olive oil (you don't want them saturated otherwise they won't get crispy) and seasonings.
3. Spread out in a single layer on a baking sheet.
4. Bake for 45 minutes or until dry/crispy, stirring about every 15 minutes.
